Rappelling for a Reason
J.C. Hart has worked with and supported United Way’s campaigns
for several years. One of the campaigns we enjoy participating in each year is
Over the Edge. Over the Edge helps support United Way’s basic needs
initiatives. This cause helps stabilize people in crisis, ensuring they have
access to healthy food, safe housing, quality healthcare, and reliable
transportation. We love to support this cause not only because it provides
great services to our community, but it’s also incredibly fun.
Philanthropists can sign up to go Over the Edge for United
Way to willingly rappel down the 23-story 220 N. Meridian building (300 feet
tall). To be eligible for the rappelling, one must receive at least $1,500 in
donations. This year, they even had an option to sky dive with a higher
donation limit to reach. Randi Ireland, Penrose on Mass, reached her goal and
on August 11th, she “rappelled for a reason” those 23-stories like
the true champion she is.
United Way was able to raise $132,583 and 80
philanthropists went Over the Edge. We’re so glad to continue to support this
campaign each year and hope to watch more of our Team rappel or sky dive next
year. Every person in our community should have access to these stabilizing
basic needs.
