Recognizing the Hard Work of Our Maintenance Teams
This winter has been a marathon that tested everyone’s patience and endurance. Between the record-shattering snowfall and the weeks of biting cold, it has been a long, draining stretch for our entire community. While most of us were hunkered down trying to stay warm, our Maintenance Teams were on the front lines, navigating one of the most demanding weather cycles Indianapolis has seen in over a decade.
The challenge wasn't just a single storm; it was a grueling 16-day stretch where the snow simply didn't move. For our Maintenance staff, that meant over two weeks of relentless physical labor. They were out there every single day—often starting as early as 4:00 AM—battling a stubborn snowpack and ice that refused to melt in the sub-zero temperatures. From the initial 11-inch weekend storm to wind chills that plummeted to -20°F, the conditions were physically exhausting and mentally taxing.
Our crew didn't just show up for the big moments; they showed up for the late-night shifts and the emergency calls that come with record-breaking cold. We know that winter weather is unpredictable and high-stakes, and we truly admire the persistence our Maintenance Team showed through it all. The physical toll of this season has been heavy, and we are incredibly grateful for the dedication and the long hours our Maintenance professionals poured into our properties during a winter that tested our entire community.
To our Maintenance staff: We see the work you put in and we truly appreciate your grit.
