As counterintuitive as it may seem, the selling of J.C. Hart communities is actually part of our overall growth strategy. While J.C. Hart does not typically employ a “build and flip” business model, the sale of a property eventually does provide that property’s investors a return on their investment, as well as capital with which J.C. Hart Company may invest in future projects. In June of this year, J.C. Hart sold The Ivy Towns & Flats, its first community built in West Lafayette, Indiana, to BAM Companies, LLC. Construction on The Ivy began in 2013 and was completed in 2016. The sale of The Ivy dovetailed into the completion of J.C. Hart’s second venture in West Lafayette - Continuum - a 248-unit podium-style community located in the Discovery Park District at the edge of Purdue University’s campus.
